Review: Erni & Tina at Cheras, KL

May 20, 2021

Erni and Tina is a quaint little cafe located in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. We came across it when we were in the area for the first time and have since visited the café several times.

I absolutely love the interior design of this place, they have all these pretty little details and it has very cozy vibes which makes for a cute hangout spot.

Chicken Parmesan – RM25

I believe this is a recent addition to their menu. I loved this dish and one thing I would say about Erni and Tina is that they are definitely not stingy with the ingredients! The chicken was crispy and the sauce wasn’t too sour. The portion was definitely bigger than I expected so I did think it was worth the price.

Nachos with cheesy meat salsa – RM20

To be honest I’ve never seen nachos served like this before but it worked really well! It came with plenty of sauce which was definitely a plus. I suppose a bit more cheese would have been better, otherwise this dish was perfect.

Of course we had to get some cakes because this café is actually known for their cakes and it’s the first thing you see when you step in. Overall their cakes seem a little pricey to me but they are just SO good.

Drinks and cake

The Carrot cake (RM16) was amazing, it looks a bit messy but don’t let that fool you. I’m glad that it didn’t have raisins or anything, or if it did I didn’t taste it at all. Also how cute is that little carrot on top?

We also tried their Americano coffee (RM10), and it tasted pretty good. It had mild chocolate notes and worked really well with the cake. And here he is enjoying that.

I enjoyed the Hot chocolate (RM12) that I ordered but around half way through it started to taste bitter, I think that might be because I had it with the cake. I would have liked it to be a bit sweeter.

The Lotus cheesecake (RM17)- to be honest I’m not a fan of cheesecakes but this was pretty good and definitely very heavy, like we only managed to eat half of that and took away the rest.

Lastly, the Red velvet cake (RM16)- I’m just gonna say it: this is the best red velvet cake I’ve ever had. It was perfect, not too sweet and just enough cream to go with the cake. I will definitely be getting this again!

I would definitely recommend visiting Erni and Tina if you’re in Cheras and looking for a cute and cosy (and halal) café to relax in!
